Description
The inchpony car,inch the first of the muscle cars, was named after the successful World War II fighter airplane, P51 Mustang, first rolling off the manufacturing floor in 1964. Considered part of the first generation of Mustangs, before Ford decided to bulk up the body, keeping its more sportscarlike physique. The 1965 Mustang model became Fords most successful vehicle launch since the Model As release, selling their millionth Mustang before the end of its second year.
